Kalmar Construction Ltd. is a registered aboriginal company and was incorporated in 1987, making Kalmar the longest operating, privately-owned construction company operating out of Fort St. John.
We strive to be a comprehensive, multi-faceted construction company, offering project management, general contracting services, design build services, and specialization in all aspects of concrete construction and building. At Kalmar Construction Ltd., we believe in trust through honesty, putting safety first, and continually striving to improve projects through enhanced sustainable construction methods.
Our goal at Kalmar Construction is to make every customer a repeat customer. To achieve this, we ensure that each project is completed to the highest standard, exceeding industry standards and customer expectations, while completing projects on time, on budget, and incident-free.
At Kalmar Construction, safety is a top priority and it is important to us that we provide our employees and subcontractors with a safe workplace environment, free of accidents. Our Safety and Loss Prevention Program is designed with this goal in mind, and every employee and subcontractor shares the responsibility of maintaining our high safety standards. Together, we are able to attain excellence in all aspects of our operations, but also maintain a safety record that we can all be extremely proud of.
The majority owner of our construction and contracting company is Christine Henry. Christine is a carded Metis who is registered with the North East and Provincial Metis Association, and has served as a member on the Board of Directors for the Fort St. John Metis Society.
At Kalmar Construction, our greatest strength is our staff. Our experienced and dedicated employees include professional Project Managers, Superintendents, and skilled trades people. All of our senior management personnel take an active roll in the progress and completion of each construction project, ensuring that all objectives, timelines, and budgets are met for every project.
Kalmar Construction is currently in the process of setting up scholarship funding for Aboriginal students looking at a career in Carpentry.
